Commissioned portrait completed on November 25

This is the acrylic painting of the "Parents of the Bride" on a 16" X 20" canvas. I chose to put in grass instead of the dry leaves. This gave a darker, cooler color behind the couple which contrasts better with the white of her dress and helps the couple come forward visually in the painting.

I was asked to paint this as a gift for the couple by their new son-in-law who happens to be the driver of the CaliCab. I painted the CaliCab in 2007. Photos of the cab are in an older blog posting.

Getting a good photo was as problem. There seemed to be a glare on the canvas no matter where or how I positined it. Therefore, the lighter colored areas appear washed out in this photo

Photo reference of the parents of the bride. This is a scanned copy of the photo which has a blue tint in comparison to the original photo.

Art for Stephanie & Roy

This piece is symbolic to the couple's relationship with each other, friends and family, their interests, and where they live. I painted with acrylics using the airbrush and paint brushes, among other tools.
