Watercolor projecs

I wanted to try working from dark to light, incorporating a flower and glass pieces. The method workd well on the flower and glass pieces, but was a challend in the background draping.

Community Memorial Hospital Gallery, Ventura, California

This piece, "I'm Cool", of my daughter's dog was accepted into the Community Memorial Hospital gallery show which begins with an artist reception on Dec. 5, and runs 'till Jan. 7.

When I saw the amusing photo I knew I had to paint it. I started with some line work using a Pigma Micron pen on a smooth surface 5" X 7" piece watercolor paper. Once the ink was dry I proceeded with watercolor paints.

My pet portraits will be part of the show in this gallery untill the end of this year.

The fund raising event was fun and I will be creating a watercolor portrait for the winner of my certificate and her adorable yorkie-poo. Look for postings of the progress of this painting.
